Modern Communication Skills

How are online and telephone interaction different how are they the same? How will your communication style translate to the online environment? Review http://www.newconversations.net/workbook.htm

Online interaction can be both asynchronous (any time) and synchronous (at the same time).  Phone is on the other hand, only synchronous two person must meet over the phone at the same time.  Phone use voice most of the time; some time video is also being used.  Online communication can be text message, audio-video chat, text chat, and discussion board.  Both online and phone interaction have both differences and similarities.  Phone communications often involve two persons.  Some time there are more than two persons can communicate over phone conferencing.  On the other online communications can been seen or heard by hundreds of people synchronously or asynchronously at later time.  One thing is for sure that both form of interaction is taken place at a distance and not face to face.

Most of the time online interaction works better for me than telephone.  But some time words are very impersonated and cold.  Voice offers better interaction, and mistakes can often be clarified immediately.  Online communication some time you write down thing that can be misunderstood and offensive but then you forget about it.  This can be very damaging.
